2008 was a very good year for Oxfam Action Corps - Minnesota. Thanks to the time and talent of 56 volunteers, thousands of people are more aware of poverty issues; many have taken action in support of lasting solutions to poverty and injustice - with an emphasis on the current
climate change campaign. In 2008, these 56 volunteers organized and/or were part of:
- 14 Concerts
- 17 Other Outreach Events
- 4 Sisters on the Planet Screenings
- ~1,940 Signatures & Email Addresses Collected
- Numerous meetings with partner groups
The numbers can be added up, but the full impact is invaluable. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Please join us for a celebration of the year's successes at our next monthly meeting,
December 15, 2008 at 7:00pm. We meet at
Common Roots Cafe at 26th and Lyndale Ave. in Minneapolis. We'll also discuss ramping up our climate justice campaign in the new year. Appetizers will be provided and we're expecting a short call from Oxfam America HQ in Boston. All are welcomed to attend!
