Innovation 2008

The University of Minnesota's Center for Science, Technology, and Public Policy is partnering up with Science Debate 2008 to bring you Innovation 2008, a national conference focused on the 21st century drivers of the US economy. The conference is set to take place at the University on October 20-21 and is open to the public.

The conference will focus on exploring ways to renew America’s economy through smarter policies in innovation and research, education, energy security and sustainability, and a renewal of science in the American culture.

Oxfam supporters may be particularly interested in the events on the second day, and we have been offered a special single-day rate of $60.00 for admission. From 8:00am to 9:30am on October 21, come hear John Foley, Director of the Institute on the Environment; Dr. Henry Topper, former Co-Chair of the Community Action for a Renewed Environment Program at the U.S. EPA; and Barbara Batshalom, founder and Executive Director of Green Roundtable. Their session is entitled: A Renewed Vision of Energy Security and Sustainability: What's Missing from the Debate? For more information on the rest of the day's agenda, click here.

For the special rate, contact CSTPP@umn.edu or Sophia at 612-625-3032, and let them know that you plan to attend for the second day only at the reduced price offered to Oxfam supporters. The event promises to be a unique opportunity to learn from some of the nation's leading scientists and public policy experts.
