Support the Grassley-Dorgan Amendment

US Senators are now considering various amendments to the 2007 Farm Bill. An amendment proposed by Senators Grassley (IA) and Dorgan (ND) would reduce the unnecessary payments to millionaires, help struggling American farmers, and give impoverished farmers abroad a better chance at making a living. Yesterday, the Star Tribune stated the Grassley-Dorgan Amendment "represent[s] a great breakthrough for a Congress that is trying to prove it can spend the public's money wisely and efficiently."

Our senators are not yet supporting this critical amendment and every vote is needed. As Margaret Krome wrote today in the Madison Capital Times, "The Dorgan-Grassley amendment is the best chance farmers have had in a long time to provide meaningful reform to farm payments. The vote is expected to be close."

Please call Senators Coleman and Klobuchar and ask them to vote yes on the Grassley-Dorgan Amendment.
  1. Call Senator Klobuchar's office at 202-224-3244.
  2. Call Senator Coleman's office at 202-224-5641.
  3. Tell the staff member that you are a constituent who wants your senator to support the Grassley-Dorgan amendment to the Farm Bill.
  4. Ask your friends to do the same.
