Climate vote imminent - Take action now!

After months of delays, a vote on climate change legislation is imminent. The US Senate could begin debate on the Kerry-Lieberman bill as early as July 26. With the right amendments, the bill is an opportunity to empower millions threatened by climate change to survive through investment in adaptation projects. The US House passed climate change legislation last June that includes such investments.

In addition to helping vulnerable communities, investing in international adaptation stands to create green jobs right here in Minnesota.

Empowering the world's poor to cope with climate change is not a partisan issue. The cause has genuine supporters across the political spectrum, but we need your help to make it a priority and give these supporters, including Senators Franken and Klobuchar, the grassroots-backing to become champions. Lend your voice to those who have none by taking action now.

Breaking news. The Congressional Budget Office has determined the Kerry-Lieberman Act would cut the national deficit by $16 billion.
