Summer of Action Kickoff Celebration: Join Us!

Passionate about fighting poverty and injustice? Looking to meet like-minded people? Interested in volunteering for a grassroots organization that has global impact?

Then join us for our MN Oxfam Action Corps Summer of Action Kick Off Celebration!

Where: Wabun Picnic Area in Minnehaha Park, Minneapolis. From the intersection of 46th Ave. and Godfrey Road, follow 46th Ave. into the picnic area. Our picnic shelter is the first shelter on the left. There is ample free parking. It's also right off the bike trail and on the opposite side of the park from Minnehaha Park light rail station.

When: Wednesday, May 26th, 6 PM to at least 9 PM. Arrive when you can, depart when you need to. Because we have a picnic shelter, the event will go on rain or shine.

Join us to meet and mingle with new and veteran volunteers, allies, and friends and family. Everyone is welcome. We'll talk about Oxfam and the Action Corps work in MN while enjoying a beautiful May evening with potluck style food, drink, bean bag toss, and fun! Root beer floats are on us. If you like, bring food and games to share.

We want to kick off this summer with a fun celebration to reflect on the great work being done in MN and to look ahead to the Action Corps growing in Minnesota. Most importantly, this will give us a chance to begin mobilizing to help make this summer and beyond a forceful effort towards achieving comprehensive climate legislation that includes adequate funding for international adaptation!

Can you make it? Let your friends know on the event's listing on Facebook. Then, invite them! The more the merrier.
