New Volunteer Meeting on Monday

Thinking about volunteering with Oxfam Action Corps? This meeting is for you! New volunteers are always welcomed at our monthly meetings, however July's meeting will be tailored for individuals interested in getting involved for the first time. Join us on Monday, July 20 at 7 PM at Common Roots Cafe (2558 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis) to learn more about Oxfam's climate change campaign, the Action Corps, and volunteer opportunities. There are dozens of different activities to choose from, but there is no fundraising. Our work simply promotes awareness and non-partisan action supporting solutions to poverty and injustice; we have a great track record of making a difference.

Do you volunteer with another organization campaigning for climate justice? This meeting is a chance to learn how to make your messaging more effective by incorporating the human face of climate change and how we might work together to make a greater impact.

It's a historic time to get involved. In September, the US Senate will consider life-saving climate change legislation. This is your chance to help ensure the voices of those already suffering - the world's poorest communities - are part of the debate.

Questions? Interested in getting involved but can't attend the meeting? You can reach us at minnesota@oxfamactioncorps.org
